February Book Club – I Heart Me: The Science of Self-Love

The month of love is upon us, but let’s do it a bit differently this time around. Whether you are blissfully in a relationship or happy to be living that single life, let’s focus on the most important relationship we will ever have. The one with ourselves. The RWFL Book Club of the month is I Heart Me: The Science of Self-Love written by David R. Hamilton, Ph.D., it includes research on brain chemistry, neuroscience, and psychotherapeutic and personal development techniques to provide a framework with practical exercises that can be used to improve confidence, self-love, and our own approval.

It just so happens that the book includes 28 exercises and as February is the only month on the calendar with 28 days, it seems like a daily self-love gym calendar was meant to be. Almost, like peanut butter and chocolate, maybe even more so.

If you haven’t yet joined the Facebook group community, this is the perfect month to do so. I will be posting threads for the exercises daily and discussion threads on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

The discussions will follow the below schedule:

Week 1 – Part 1: Where Are You now? Chapters 1-4

Week 2 – Part 2: What Does It Matter? Chapters 5-9

Week 3 – Part 3: You Matter. Chapters 10-12

Week 4 – Where are you Going? Chapters 13-14

So pour yourself a cuppa tea, grab a fuzzy blanket, indulge in a bit of self-care and self-love! And, don’t forget to put the online book discussion on your calendar. It’s the last Tuesday of every month at 8 pm ET. This month we will be meeting on Feb. 22.
